The Routt County Fair in Steamboat Springs celebrates the "Ski Town, USA" capital of Cowboys and moguls — Steamboat Springs' unique combination of genuine ranching heritage and world-class skiing (Olympic development center), natural hot springs, and the Yampa River valley's cattle ranching define a Colorado mountain county of distinctive Western character.

Steamboat Springs has produced more Winter Olympians than any other town in America — over 90 athletes have gone from Steamboat to the Olympics.
