About Jackson County Fair
The Jackson County Fair in Walden celebrates the "Moose Watching Capital of Colorado" — the North Park valley's moose population is the densest in Colorado, and the county's ranching in the high alpine valley, the headwaters of the North Platte River, and the spectacular Never Summer Mountains define one of Colorado's most remote and wildlife-rich counties.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, moose and wildlife exhibits, hay and cattle exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the greater Walden area and the North Park ranching community.
Visitor Tips
North Park's moose were reintroduced in 1978 and have thrived in the willows and wetlands of the North Platte headwaters. Walden's North Park Moose Visitor Center celebrates the county's wildlife. The Illinois River and the Michigan River's headwaters provide exceptional trout fishing in one of Colorado's most pristine alpine valleys.
