About Canadian County Free Fair
The Canadian County Free Fair in El Reno is an August fair in the wheat and cattle country west of Oklahoma City, celebrating the agricultural heritage of a county that served as a major staging point for the 1889 Land Run and is famous for inventing the onion-fried hamburger.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, carnival rides, local food vendors, and a fair serving the farming and growing suburban communities of Canadian County.
Visitor Tips
El Reno is famous for its Fried Onion Burgers — the annual Fried Onion Burger Day Festival, the Canadian County Historical Museum, and Fort Reno (a historic post-Civil War cavalry fort that later served as a German POW camp) make El Reno one of the most interesting stops on Route 66 west of Oklahoma City.
