About Craig County Free Fair
The Craig County Free Fair in Vinita is an August fair in the tallgrass prairie country of northeast Oklahoma, celebrating the cattle, dairy, and Cherokee heritage of a county at the intersection of the old Cattle Trail and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, where the famous Eastern Trails cattle drives passed through Indian Territory.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, local food vendors, and a community fair in the rolling tallgrass prairie and hardwood creek bottoms of Craig County.
Visitor Tips
Vinita is the Craig County seat — the Eastern Trails Museum documents the cattle trail and railroad history of this northeast Oklahoma county, and the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees just to the east (one of Oklahoma's most popular lake destinations) makes Craig County a significant recreation gateway.
