About Adair County Free Fair
Held each August in Stilwell, Adair County Free Fair celebrates the strawberry farming, cattle, and Cherokee heritage of a county famous as the "Strawberry Capital of Oklahoma" and one of the most forested and culturally Cherokee-rooted counties in the state.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, local food vendors featuring Adair County strawberries, and a community fair in the steep forested hills and creek valleys of the Cherokee Nation.
Visitor Tips
Stilwell is the Adair County seat and the strawberry capital — the annual Stilwell Strawberry Festival each May celebrates the county's most famous crop, and the surrounding Cookson Hills and Illinois River country preserve some of Oklahoma's most rugged and beautiful terrain.
