The Leake County Fair in Carthage is an August fair in the Piney Woods of central Mississippi, celebrating the cattle, timber, and Choctaw heritage of a county that is home to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians — the largest federally recognized tribe east of the Mississippi River, who never left their homeland during the 1830s removal.
