About Central Mississippi Fair

Held each September in Kosciusko, Attala County Fair celebrates the cattle, timber, and cultural heritage of a county famous as the birthplace of Oprah Winfrey — one of the most influential media personalities in American history, born in Kosciusko in 1954.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, carnival rides, local food vendors, and a fair in the rolling red clay and pine country of the upper Pearl River watershed.

Visitor Tips

Kosciusko is the Attala County seat and Oprah Winfrey's birthplace — the Oprah Winfrey birthplace marker, the Attala County Historical Museum, and the surrounding Natchez Trace Parkway (which runs through the county) make Kosciusko a worthwhile central Mississippi destination.
