The Bangor State Fair at Bass Park is one of Maine's largest and most popular summer events, held annually at the historic Cross Insurance Center and Bass Park harness racing facility in the heart of Bangor. Dating to 1849, it is one of Maine's oldest and most enduring agricultural fair traditions. This 10-day fair combines world-class harness racing with all the attractions of a major agricultural fair.

What to Expect

Championship harness racing, major carnival midway, livestock and agricultural competitions, live entertainment from national acts, demolition derby, fair food from dozens of vendors, commercial exhibits, and family activities. The historic Bass Park racetrack adds a unique prestige to this major Maine fair.

Bass Park is located at 515 Main Street in downtown Bangor, easily accessible from I-95. Bangor is the cultural and commercial hub of northern Maine — combine the fair with a visit to Stephen King's mansion (he's a Bangor resident), the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory, or downtown dining.
