About Benewah County Fair

The Benewah County Fair in St. Maries celebrates a northern Idaho Panhandle county on the St. Maries and St. Joe rivers where timber, agriculture, and the Coeur d'Alene Lake's southern arm define a county of exceptional natural beauty — the St. Joe River, navigable by steamboat to an elevation of 2,100 feet, is the highest navigable river in the world.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, timber and logging exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the St. Maries community and the surrounding lake and river country.

Visitor Tips

St. Maries sits at the confluence of the St. Maries and St. Joe rivers. The Route of the Hiawatha rail-trail crosses the Idaho-Montana border through dramatic tunnels and trestles. Coeur d'Alene Lake's southern arm and the St. Joe National Forest provide excellent boating, fishing, and hiking.
