About Sedgwick County Fair
The Sedgwick County Fair in Julesburg celebrates Colorado's only city to be destroyed and rebuilt multiple times — Julesburg was burned twice by Cheyenne and Sioux warriors in 1865, rebuilt on a new site after each attack, and today the county's corn, millet, and irrigated crop farming along the South Platte River defines the northeastern Colorado agricultural landscape.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, corn and irrigated crop exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the Julesburg area and the South Platte River farming community.
Visitor Tips
Julesburg's Fort Sedgwick Depot Museum preserves the history of the Pony Express, Overland Stage, and Union Pacific Railroad that all passed through this South Platte crossing. The county's location at the Nebraska-Colorado corner makes it a genuine frontier crossroads, and the South Platte River's migratory bird corridor is impressive.
