About Saguache County Fair
The Saguache County Fair in Saguache celebrates the San Luis Valley's northern gateway county where the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, the Cochetopa Hills, and the Great Sand Dunes National Park's northern approaches define a county of extraordinary natural character, and where potato farming, cattle ranching, and the Baca Wildlife Refuge's wetlands come together in a high-altitude valley of exceptional beauty.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, San Luis Valley potato and grain exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the Saguache community and the surrounding valley farming families.
Visitor Tips
Saguache's Crestone area at the base of the Sangre de Cristos has become a center for spiritual retreat — the Crestone community hosts Buddhist, Hindu, Carmelite, and Native American spiritual centers in an extraordinary concentration of world religions at the foot of Colorado's most dramatic mountains. Great Sand Dunes National Park is nearby.
