Visitor Tips

Fairplay is at 9,953 feet elevation on US-285 in South Park, about 85 miles southwest of Denver. The World's Greatest Pack Burro Race runs through Fairplay in late July — timing a visit around both events is a great summer Colorado experience. Dress in layers; August nights at nearly 10,000 feet can be cool.
