The Oldest Fairs in Wyoming

Every year, Casper hosts the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo, which is a nine-day July Fourth celebration in Wyoming's second-largest city, drawing large crowds from the Powder River Basin and Oil City for rodeo and fair entertainment. Launched in 1904, the fair has held its place in Wyoming agricultural life for generations.

The Wyoming State Fair in Douglas is a five-day August celebration at the self-proclaimed "Home of the Jackalope," drawing visitors from across Wyoming for the state's premier agricultural and entertainment showcase. A 1905 founding makes it one of Wyoming's longer-running agricultural traditions, still going after more than a century.

Every year, Cheyenne hosts the Laramie County Fair, which is an 11-day late-July celebration in Wyoming's capital and largest city, drawing the biggest crowds of any county fair in the state during the famous Cheyenne Frontier Days. A 1909 founding makes it one of Wyoming's longer-running agricultural traditions, still going after more than a century.
