On the Midway
Expect major grandstand entertainment, livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, carnival rides, demolition derby, and a full fair midway in one of Texas's most industrialized and agriculturally diverse regions.
Before You Go
Beaumont anchors the Golden Triangle at the edge of the Texas refinery coast — the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum (site of the 1901 Lucas gusher that launched the oil age), the Texas Energy Museum, and the Big Thicket National Preserve are all nearby.
What to Know
The South Texas State Fair, based in Beaumont, is an eleven-day October fair in the Golden Triangle, one of Southeast Texas's premier fair events drawing visitors from across the Beaumont-Port Arthur-Orange metropolitan area and the surrounding oil refinery and rice farming communities. The fair got its start in 1907 and has remained a Texas agricultural mainstay ever since.
