About Gillespie County Fair
The Gillespie County Fair in Fredericksburg is one of the oldest county fairs in Texas, a late-August celebration in the heart of the Texas Hill Country that has gathered German-heritage farm families in the peach and wine country since 1881.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, a carnival midway, live music, local food vendors featuring Hill Country peaches and wines, a horse show, and the distinctive German-Texas heritage atmosphere of one of the most charming towns in the American South.
Visitor Tips
Fredericksburg is the Hill Country's crown jewel — the National Museum of the Pacific War (the premier WWII museum in the United States), the Vereins Kirche Pioneer Museum, the Main Street wine tasting rooms, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, and the surrounding peach orchards make Fredericksburg an outstanding destination.
