About McCormick County Fair

The McCormick County Fair returned in May 2024 after a hiatus of more than 30 years — the first fair held in South Carolina's least populated county since the 1990s. Backed by the Town of McCormick, it drew hundreds of attendees to McCormick along Thurmond Lake (Clarks Hill Lake), the massive Savannah River reservoir on the Georgia border, in a small county with a gold-mining history dating to the 1800s. No dates have been confirmed since — check the link below for updates.

What to Expect

Based on the 2024 revival: rides, food, games, vendors, and live music, with $5 admission (free for kids 10 and under and seniors 55+). Whether the fair returns in 2026 hasn't been confirmed; this listing will update once new dates are announced.

Visitor Tips

McCormick is the county seat on SC-28 along Thurmond Lake. Hickory Knob State Resort Park offers golf, boating, and lodge accommodations — one of South Carolina's best state park resort experiences in the area.
