About Licking County Fair

The Licking County Fair in Newark celebrates one of central Ohio's most active agricultural counties — Licking County is named for the salt licks that drew wildlife and Native Americans to its mineral springs, and today it combines a strong farming heritage with growing Columbus-area suburban development.

Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, carnival rides, harness racing, local food vendors, and live entertainment drawing from the greater Newark community and the county's farming families.

Newark is home to The Longaberger Company's famous basket-shaped headquarters and the Newark Earthworks — one of the largest geometric earthwork complexes in the ancient world, built by the Hopewell culture 2,000 years ago. Buckeye Lake State Park provides water recreation nearby.
