The Harlan County Fair in Harlan is a proud summer tradition in one of Kentucky's most storied mountain communities. "Bloody Harlan" has a legendary history of coal mine labor struggles, and today's county fair celebrates the community spirit that has defined Harlan County for generations.

What to Expect

Livestock competitions, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides, food vendors, and entertainment reflecting the resilient character of eastern Kentucky's most famous coal county.

Visitor Tips

Harlan is on US-421 in the heart of southeastern Kentucky's coal country, about 120 miles southeast of Lexington. Black Mountain, Kentucky's highest peak, is in Harlan County.
