The Brooklyn Fair is one of the oldest continuously running fairs in America, celebrating over 215 years of agricultural tradition in northeastern Connecticut. Dating to 1809, it is one of Connecticut's oldest and most enduring agricultural fair traditions. Organized by the Windham County Agricultural Society, this beloved fair draws visitors from across New England for a long weekend of authentic rural New England fair traditions.

What to Expect

Champion livestock competitions, horse pulling, oxen shows, harness racing, carnival rides, traditional fair food, live entertainment, craft exhibits, and agricultural displays. The fair preserves genuine New England agricultural heritage with competitions that have been running for generations.

Visitor Tips

The fair runs Thursday through Sunday over the last weekend in August. Brooklyn is in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut — arrive early as parking fills quickly on weekends. The horse-pulling and oxen competitions are not-to-miss highlights unique to New England fairs.
