About North Alabama State Fair
The Colbert County Fair in Tuscumbia is a July fair in the Shoals area of northwest Alabama, celebrating the agricultural and historic heritage of a county anchored by Tuscumbia — birthplace of Helen Keller, one of the most celebrated figures in American history — and the Muscle Shoals recording industry.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, local food vendors, and a community fair in the Tennessee River valley country of the Shoals region.
Visitor Tips
Tuscumbia is Helen Keller's birthplace — Ivy Green (the Keller homesite where the famous water pump scene occurred) is one of Alabama's most visited historic sites. The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is also in Colbert County, and the Tennessee River bottomlands and Wilson Lake offer excellent outdoor recreation.
