The Taylor County Fair in Grafton celebrates a north-central West Virginia county where the Tygart Valley River and the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad created an important 19th-century industrial center, and where Grafton's Walnut Grove Cemetery holds the grave of Anna Jarvis's mother — the inspiration for Mother's Day, which was first observed in Grafton in 1908.
