The Logan County Fair in Logan celebrates the heart of the West Virginia coalfields — Logan County was the epicenter of the 1921 Battle of Blair Mountain, the largest armed labor uprising in American history, where 10,000 union coal miners faced off against operators and the state militia in a conflict that defined the labor movement in the coalfields.
