About Tri-County Fair

The Tri-County Fair, held each summer in Petersburg, serves Hardy County alongside Grant and Pendleton counties in West Virginia's Potomac Highlands. Hardy County's fertile limestone farmland in the Smoke Hole and South Branch valleys produces some of West Virginia's finest poultry and livestock, and the county seat of Moorefield is a historic Civil War town with a courthouse that changed hands multiple times during the conflict.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows with genuine working livestock, 4-H and FFA competitions, poultry and dairy exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the South Branch valley farming communities.

Visitor Tips

Moorefield's historic downtown preserves Civil War-era architecture. The South Branch of the Potomac River's trout fishing and the Smoke Hole Canyon's scenic gorge drive define the county's natural character. Hardy County's limestone-rich Potomac highland farmland produces excellent poultry.
