About Fayette County Fair
The Fayette County Fair in Fayetteville celebrates New River Gorge country — Fayette County contains the New River Gorge National Park, the longest single-span steel arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere, and some of the best whitewater rafting in the eastern United States, alongside a coal mining heritage and the agricultural communities of the Gauley and New River valleys.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, local food vendors, mountain crafts, live music, and a fair drawing from the New River Gorge communities.
Visitor Tips
The New River Gorge Bridge — 3,030 feet long, 876 feet above the New River — hosts Bridge Day every October, when BASE jumpers leap from the span. New River Gorge National Park's world-class whitewater, rock climbing, and hiking define a county of extraordinary outdoor recreation.
