About Jack County Fair

Held each September in Jacksboro, Jack County Fair celebrates the cattle and oil heritage of a county defined by Fort Richardson, the southernmost of the frontier forts built to protect settlers from Comanche raids.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, carnival rides, local food vendors, and a community fair in the cedar and live oak country of North Texas between Fort Worth and Wichita Falls.

Visitor Tips

Jacksboro is home to Fort Richardson State Park and Historic Site — the best-preserved frontier fort in Texas, Fort Richardson saw service during the Red River War against the Comanche. Lost Creek Reservoir and the surrounding cattle country define the Jack County landscape.
