About Georgetown County Fair
Georgetown County is the heart of South Carolina's historic Rice Coast — where massive antebellum rice plantations along the Waccamaw, Pee Dee, Black, and Sampit Rivers made it the wealthiest county per capita in antebellum America and shaped the Gullah-Geechee culture of enslaved Africans whose descendants still live on the Waccamaw Neck.
What to Expect
Livestock and agricultural shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides, community food vendors, and local entertainment celebrating Georgetown County's coastal farming heritage and the extraordinary rice plantation history of the Waccamaw Neck.
Visitor Tips
Georgetown is the county seat on US-17 between Myrtle Beach and Charleston. The Rice Museum in historic Georgetown and the Hobcaw Barony (Bernard Baruch's estate) tell the remarkable story of the South Carolina Rice Coast.
