About Edgefield County Fair

Edgefield County is known as the "Ten Governors' County" — producing more South Carolina governors than any other county in the state, including Strom Thurmond, the longest-serving U.S. Senator in history — and for the Edgefield pottery tradition of alkaline-glazed stoneware that has been recognized as one of America's most distinctive folk art traditions.

What to Expect

Livestock and agricultural shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides, community food vendors, and local entertainment celebrating Edgefield County's Piedmont farming heritage and its extraordinary legacy in South Carolina political history.

Visitor Tips

Edgefield is the county seat west of Aiken. The Discovery Center on Edgefield pottery and the Strom Thurmond home reflect a county with more political and artistic history per square mile than almost anywhere in the South.
