About Polk County Fair

The Polk County Fair in Columbus celebrates the Tryon and Thermal Belt communities of the Blue Ridge foothills — Polk County's unique microclimate, the "Thermal Belt," creates exceptional fruit-growing conditions, and the county's apple orchards, horse farms, and equestrian culture have made Tryon a center for hunters, jumpers, and the 2018 World Equestrian Games.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, equestrian events, apple and orchard exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair celebrating the agricultural and horse country heritage of the Blue Ridge foothills.

Visitor Tips

Tryon hosted the 2018 World Equestrian Games at the Tryon International Equestrian Center — one of the world's premier equestrian venues. The Pacolet River, the Blue Ridge Escarpment, and Chimney Rock State Park (in neighboring Rutherford County) are major regional draws.
