The Passaic County Fair in Paterson celebrates one of America's original planned industrial cities — Alexander Hamilton designed Paterson to harness the Great Falls of the Passaic River for manufacturing, creating the nation's first planned industrial city, and the county's agricultural communities in the Ramapo Mountains coexist with this urban industrial heritage.
