The Fair
Every year, Hannibal hosts the Marion County Fair, which is one of Missouri's premier county fairs, running eight days from late July into August in the hometown of Mark Twain on the Mississippi River. Drawing visitors from across northeast Missouri and beyond, the fair takes on an added glow in a city already famous for its literary heritage.
Local Tips
Hannibal's Mark Twain sites — the boyhood home, the cave, and the museum — are all nearby and make for an ideal companion to a fair visit, especially with children.
