About Iron County Fair
The Iron County Fair in Ironton celebrates the St. Francois Mountains — Missouri's oldest and most rugged terrain — where iron mining, granite quarrying, and Ozark timber have shaped communities in a county with some of the most dramatic scenery in the state, including Taum Sauk Mountain, Missouri's highest point.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, 4-H competitions, local food vendors, and the Ozark community spirit of a county defined by its mining heritage and the ancient granite mountains of southeastern Missouri.
Visitor Tips
Ironton is the county seat in the St. Francois Mountains. Taum Sauk Mountain State Park — containing Missouri's highest point at 1,772 feet and a spectacular waterfall — and Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park (a natural water park in granite chutes) are major state park destinations within Iron County.
