About Tensas Parish Fair
The Tensas Parish Fair in St. Joseph celebrates one of Louisiana most sparsely populated parishes — a Mississippi River Delta parish where the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge protects one of the last great bottomland hardwood forests in the South, and where cotton farming has sustained a small community through 150 years of agricultural change.
What to Expect
Expect a small fair with livestock exhibits, 4-H competitions, cotton and soybean exhibits, local food vendors, and the community spirit of a remote northeast Louisiana Delta parish.
Visitor Tips
The Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge 73,000 acres of bottomland hardwoods is one of the most significant wildlife areas in the Mississippi Delta — home to black bears, ivory-billed woodpecker searches, and extraordinary biodiversity. St. Joseph is a small river town on high ground above the Delta.
