The Clay County Fair in Spencer is a nine-day mid-September celebration that is one of the largest county fairs in the world, drawing over 325,000 visitors to northwestern Iowa's premier agricultural showcase. First held in 1918, it has been a Iowa agricultural tradition for over a century.

What to Expect

Expect world-class livestock shows, nationally known grandstand entertainment, 4-H and FFA competitions from across Iowa, a massive midway, outstanding food vendors, and the full spectacular experience of one of America's great county fairs.

The Clay County Fair has been called "The World's Greatest County Fair" and draws visitors from across the country — book accommodations in Spencer well in advance, arrive early for livestock competitions, and plan at least two full days.
