About Shoshone County Fair

The Shoshone County Fair in Wallace celebrates the Silver Valley — Wallace is the self-proclaimed "Silver Capital of the World," having produced more silver than any other district on Earth, and the county's remarkable mining heritage, the historic Wallace downtown (the last portion of I-90 to be built, routed over the town on an elevated viaduct), and the extraordinary Coeur d'Alene Mining District history define a community of unique character.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, 4-H competitions, mining heritage exhibits, local food vendors, and a fair drawing from the Silver Valley communities with deep hard-rock mining heritage.

Visitor Tips

Wallace's entire downtown is a National Historic Landmark. The Sierra Silver Mine Tour offers underground hard-rock mining experiences, and the Wallace District Mining Museum preserves the extraordinary history of a district that has produced over a billion ounces of silver. The Route of the Hiawatha trail-to-rail conversion is spectacular.
