About Camas County Fair

The Camas County Fair in Fairfield celebrates one of Idaho's smallest counties — the Camas Prairie's namesake blue camas lilies once sustained the Shoshone and Bannock peoples and were a primary food source for the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and today the high prairie's potato and grain farms and cattle ranching define a small county of significant agricultural heritage.

What to Expect

Expect a small fair with livestock exhibits, 4-H competitions, potato and grain exhibits, and the community spirit of a small Idaho high prairie agricultural county.

Visitor Tips

Fairfield is the tiny county seat of Camas County at 5,000 feet elevation on the Big Camas Prairie. The Wood River Valley's recreation and the Soldier Mountain ski area provide regional recreation. The camas lily fields that bloom in spring are one of the most spectacular wildflower displays in Idaho.
