About Early County Fair
Early County's seat of Blakely is home to Kolomoki Mounds State Park — one of the most important archaeological sites in the southeastern United States, where seven ancient mounds built by the Swift Creek and Weeden Island cultures between 350 and 750 AD represent the most significant concentration of pre-Columbian earthworks in Georgia, predating the better-known Mississippian culture mounds.
What to Expect
Livestock and agricultural shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, carnival rides, community food vendors, and local entertainment celebrating Early County's peanut farming heritage and the remarkable ancient history preserved in its archaeological landscape.
Visitor Tips
Blakely is the Early County seat on US-84 in southwest Georgia near the Alabama border. Kolomoki Mounds State Park is one of Georgia's most extraordinary and undervisited historical sites — plan a full morning exploring the ancient mounds before the fair.
