About Charlton County Fair
Charlton County is the official gateway to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge — the 400,000-acre "Land of the Trembling Earth" — where the Folkston entrance provides access to one of the most spectacular wilderness canoe trails in the eastern United States and where alligators, sandhill cranes, and black bears roam freely.
What to Expect
Livestock and agricultural shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides, community food vendors, and local entertainment celebrating Charlton County's timber and farming heritage at the edge of the great Okefenokee wilderness.
Visitor Tips
Folkston is the Charlton County seat and the primary entrance to the Okefenokee NWR. The swamp boat tours from the Suwannee Canal Recreation Area are extraordinary — plan a full day for the swamp alongside the county fair.
