The Fair
The Harwinton Fair is a beloved autumn tradition in the Litchfield Hills of northwest Connecticut, having celebrated its 169th year in 2026. Dating to 1857, it ranks among Connecticut's oldest agricultural fairs. This three-day fair at the Harwinton Fairgrounds brings together the agricultural communities of Litchfield County each early October for competition, entertainment, and New England fall traditions.

The fair runs Friday through Sunday in early October, perfectly coinciding with the beginning of fall foliage season in the Litchfield Hills. Harwinton is about 25 miles southwest of Hartford. Combine with a drive along scenic Route 44 or a visit to Litchfield town center.
