About Yakutat City and Borough Fair
The Yakutat City and Borough Fair in Yakutat celebrates the most remote city connected to the Alaska highway system — actually not connected at all, Yakutat is accessible only by air or ferry, and the community's world-class surfing (the northernmost surf break in the US), the Malaspina Glacier (the largest piedmont glacier in North America), and the exceptional steelhead and salmon fisheries define a remote Southeast Alaska community of extraordinary character.
What to Expect
Expect a small community fair with Tlingit cultural heritage displays, commercial fishing exhibits, surfing and outdoor adventure exhibits, local food vendors with Yakutat's exceptional salmon, and the adventurous spirit of one of America's most isolated communities.
Visitor Tips
Yakutat's Cannon Beach and other surf breaks attract surfers willing to brave cold water for uncrowded world-class waves. The Malaspina Glacier's piedmont lobe covers 850 square miles. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park's Yakutat section provides extraordinary wilderness access, and Hubbard Glacier's tidewater face is 76 miles long.
