About Southeast Fairbanks Census Area Fair

The Southeast Fairbanks Census Area Fair in Delta Junction celebrates the end of the Alaska Highway — Delta Junction is the official terminus of the 1,387-mile Alaska Highway built in 1942, and the community's barley farming in the Delta Agricultural Project, the Bison Range, and the spectacular Delta River valley at the eastern Alaska Range define an Interior Alaska community of historical and agricultural significance.

What to Expect

Expect livestock shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, barley and grain exhibits from the Delta Agricultural Project, Alaska bison herd exhibits, local food vendors, and the community spirit of an Interior Alaska agricultural community.

Visitor Tips

Delta Junction's Alaska Highway terminus marker is the most photographed roadside attraction in the area. The Delta Bison Herd — escaped from a 1928 introduction — now roams freely and is managed as a wildlife resource. The Rika's Roadhouse State Historical Park preserves an original Alaska Highway roadhouse.
