About Winston County Fair
The Winston County Fair in Double Springs is an August fair in the Bankhead National Forest country of northwest Alabama, celebrating the timber and cattle heritage of the "Free State of Winston" — which, like its Mississippi namesake, voted against secession in 1861 and sent thousands of men to fight for the Union from within Confederate Alabama.
