Phenix City's Russell County Fair is a September fair on the Chattahoochee River, celebrating the textile, military, and Chattahoochee River heritage of a county whose twin city of Columbus, Georgia directly across the river is home to Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) — the "Home of the Infantry" and one of the largest military installations in the world.
