About Blount County Fair
The Blount County Fair in Oneonta is an August fair in the Appalachian foothills of north Alabama, celebrating the covered bridge, apple, and poultry heritage of a county famous for preserving more covered bridges than any other county in Alabama — remnants of the 19th century rural road network through the rolling hills north of Birmingham.
What to Expect
Expect livestock shows, FFA and 4-H competitions, carnival rides, local food vendors, and a community fair in the rolling apple orchard and poultry country of the Appalachian foothills.
Visitor Tips
Blount County is Alabama's covered bridge country — the county preserves three of Alabama's remaining historic covered bridges (Swann, Horton Mill, and Nectar bridges), and the apple orchards of the Oneonta area are outstanding in fall. Oneonta is about 35 miles north of Birmingham on I-75.
